For some patients, there is need to change a previously performed bariatric operation

Gastric Band (Lap-Band) Removal

A band with an inflatable balloon is placed over the stomach to reduce the amount you can eat. These surgeries are rarely performed anymore. When these bands cause problems, like infection, or move out of the proper place, removal is necessary. Removal is performed through small incisions. A sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass can be performed after a band removal.

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass after Sleeve Gastrectomy

Some patients may have undergone a sleeve in the past and desire a gastric bypass for more weight loss or for heartburn symptoms. The previous sleeve stomach can be reconfigured to a gastric bypass.
